Still one of my favorite surveys by the Economist is this one showing which decade of the 20th century respondents would like to go back to. I’d personally like a sampling of all of them myself, and just as importantly as when would be where: I’d love to spend time in Buenos Aires in the 1900s, Rangoon in the 1910s, Havana in the ’20s, Shanghai in the ’30s, Simla in the ’40s, Bangkok in the ’50s, Kampala in the ’60s, Hong Kong and Singapore in the ’70s, Tokyo in the 80s, and Taipei in the 90s just to name a few…
